Why I Love My New Ford Bronco: A Journey with Jacob

When it comes to vehicles that combine ruggedness with versatility, the 2024 Ford Bronco stands out as a top choice. We had the pleasure of catching up with Jacob, an avid car enthusiast from Tennessee who runs a custom car shop, to learn about his experience with his new Bronco and why it's perfect for Nashville's unpredictable seasons.

Jacob’s First Impressions

For Jacob, the Ford Bronco was a game-changer from the start. "The Bronco just looks cool and there's lots of customization options. For a winter car it just seemed right, and the price was good," he shares. "It's got this tough look I like since I work on a lot of square bodies." From the moment he got behind the wheel, the G.O.A.T. modes, which form the terrain management system, and the well-designed interior stood out, making it a joy to drive, especially in the snowstorm that hit shortly after purchase.

Are Ford Broncos good in Snow? Thats a “YES”

Nashville winters can be tricky, but Jacob's Bronco has been a revelation. "At first, I was like,What is Goat mode?” But when the roads froze this January, I looked for a traction feature and found the Slippery G.O.A.T. mode, which made the vehicle feel a lot easier to drive .”

We just had a bad snowstorm too, and I felt a lot more confident driving around with the family on those roads. I traded in my Corvette for an SUV like this as winter got here because that car was terrible in the snow. I trust the Ford Bronco in snow," Jacob said. The advanced traction control, larger tires, and all-wheel drive make the Bronco a reliable companion in adverse weather.

More Uses for Ford Bronco GOAT Modes

As the seasons change, the Bronco continues to impress. "The Bronco is known to handle mud and rain well. It's got great traction and stability, so I’m looking forward to doing some donuts in the backyard once spring gets here because I know it will be able to get back up the hill to our driveway," Jacob enthuses. Springtime adventures become memorable experiences when the clay turns to mud. "My kids and I will love taking it out mudding when the weathers bad. The kids really like taking the roof off on sunny days or taking the doors off and going for a fun ride. It's been a good replacement for our golf cart when I take them to visit their friends down the street." With uses like that, Jacob will probably want to invest in some Ford Bronco Mud Flaps for when his wife is following behind him when he shares the vehicle with family members or customers.

Ford Bronco Family-Friendly Features

Jacob's Bronco isn't just for him; it's a family affair. "My wife and kids like it. It has plenty of space for the kids and all their stuff, and the safety features make my wife feel safe. It's a good car. I like that it's easy to clean when I go to tractor supply to get stuff for our chickens, and the cupholders fit my protein shakes."

A Customized Ford Bronco with Genuine Ford Bronco Accessories

As a customization expert, Jacob has big plans for his Bronco, especially focusing on genuine Ford accessories. "I’ll probably start with some custom wheels and a lift kit, and add some off-road lights to give it that classic truck look. There‘s a lot to choose from, so I have to look at the Ford options and aftermarket accessories, too." Jacob's passion for personalization ensures his Bronco will be unique and suited to his needs. “It's going to be an awesome custom Ford Bronco when I’m finished with it!”

Some of the genuine Ford Bronco accessories Jacob can choose from to make his truck a fully customized Ford Bronco include:

- Ford Bronco Mud Flaps (AKA Splash Guards): To protect the Bronco from mud and debris after a day of off-road adventures.
-All-Weather Floor Liners: To keep the interior clean, even in muddy or snowy conditions.

-Off-Road Lights: To improve visibility during nighttime off-road trips.

-Sasquatch Fender Flare Kit: To upgrade its appearance and protection from stones and mud while maintaining clearance for oversized tires.

-Tube Door Kit: To enjoy an open-air driving experience.

-Performance and High Clearance Exhaust Kits

-Underhood air compressor kit: To re-inflate tires after airing down on off-road adventures, or to inflate rafts and water sports equipment.

These accessories, and more, are available at the Wyatt Johnson Ford Parts Center in Nashville. Order online or in person – our staff will ensure you get a part that fits your specific model. Have fun customizing and browse the full catalog on the Ford Performance Parts Website.

Safety and Peace of Mind

Safety is a top priority for Jacob, and the Bronco doesn't disappoint.
In fact, Jacob recalls an instance when the Bronco's safety features made a significant difference. "There was this one time when we hit a patch of black ice, and the Bronco handled it like a pro. The traction control kicked in immediately, and I was able to regain control without any issues. I had to make a long trip all the way out to Franklin, and it felt a lot safer than my client’s car I picked up."

The Ford Bronco Community

For Jacob, owning a new Ford Bronco has also meant becoming part of a passionate and welcoming community. "Bronco owners love their cars, and it's been great connecting with other enthusiasts and sharing ideas for my next build. Everyone is unique."

Two images comparing the Ford Maverick and the Ford Ranger, both vehicles are driving on an open road in their separate photos.

Ford Maverick vs. Ford Ranger: Which Truck Is Right for You?

If you're shopping for a versatile pickup truck, Ford offers two compelling options: the Maverick and the Ranger. Each model brings its own strengths to the table, catering to different lifestyles and driving needs. Whether you're looking for a fuel-efficient commuter or a rugged off-road companion, Ford has a truck for you. To start exploring your options, check out the Ford Maverick inventory in Nashville. more Size and Design The Ford Maverick is a compact pickup designed for urban drivers who want the utility of a truck without the bulk. Its unibody construction makes it easy to maneuver and park, while still offering a functional bed for hauling gear. The Ford Ranger, by contrast, is a midsize truck built on a body-on-frame platform. It’s larger, more rugged, and better suited for off-road adventures or heavy-duty tasks. Powertrain and Efficiency One of the standout features of the Maverick is its available Ford Maverick hybrid powertrain. This option delivers impressive fuel economy, making it an ideal choice for daily commuting and light hauling. The hybrid system pairs a 2.5L engine with an electric motor, offering a smooth and efficient ride. The Ranger doesn’t offer a hybrid, but it comes standard with a turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost engine that delivers robust performance and acceleration. Towing and Capability When it comes to towing, the Ranger clearly has the edge. With a maximum Ford Ranger towing capacity of up to 7,500 pounds when properly equipped, it’s built to handle trailers, boats, and heavy equipment with ease. The Maverick, while capable, tops out at around 4,000 pounds with its optional towing package—perfect for smaller loads and weekend getaways. Off-Road Performance For those who crave adventure, the Ford Ranger tremor package is a game-changer. It includes off-road tuned suspension, skid plates, and all-terrain tires, transforming the Ranger into a trail-ready machine. The Maverick offers an FX4 off-road package for its AWD models, but it’s more suited for light off-roading and gravel paths than serious trail work. Interior and Technology Both trucks come equipped with Ford’s SYNC infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a suite of driver-assist features. The Maverick’s cabin is modern and efficient, with clever storage solutions and a youthful vibe. The Ranger leans more traditional, offering a durable interior designed for comfort during long hauls and tough jobs. Pricing and Value The Maverick is one of the most affordable trucks on the market, making it a great entry point for first-time buyers. If you're searching for a Ford Maverick for sale, Wyatt Johnson Ford offers competitive pricing and a wide selection. The Ranger, while priced higher, delivers more capability and ruggedness—ideal for those who need a dependable workhorse. The Right Truck for Your Lifestyle Choosing between the Ford Maverick and Ford Ranger ultimately comes down to your lifestyle and priorities. The Maverick is perfect for city dwellers and budget-conscious buyers who value fuel efficiency and smart design. The Ranger is built for those who demand power, towing, and off-road performance. Ford F-150 Lightning vs Chevy Silverado EV: What’s the Difference?

Narrow down your search for a reliable EV pickup truck and pay attention to the electric Silverado vs. Ford Lightning. Both vehicles are designed to go the distance, with the performance metrics that make them prepared for heavy hauls on the job site and adventurous weekend plans. There are also differences in how they operate and look and feel inside. Make sure that the next truck you drive checks off all the boxes on your wish list and discover what’s unique about the new F-150 versus its competition. EV Truck Performance Within the Ford Lightning vs. Chevy Silverado EV conversation, power and performance are the first things that may come to mind. As its name suggests, the electric F-150 can bolt to 60 miles-per-hour in under four seconds. All you need is the Extended Range Battery, which can also belt out 580 horsepower, and you will be ready to move. If you like to tow with heavy equipment, such as a trailer or boat, then consider driving the Ford Lightning Flash™ or Lariat® trim levels. With the Max Trailer Tow Package, your truck can handle a haul of 10,000 pounds. The Chevy Silverado has an identical towing capacity. It’s capable of 785 pound-feet of torque, which is slightly more than its Ford counterpart. Yet, it takes longer to accelerate, timing at about six seconds if you’re driving the 4WT trim level. The Silverado has the higher range of the two at 440 miles, courtesy of its massive battery. With the Ford, the smaller battery makes the pickup easier to handle when you’re behind the wheel. EV Truck Interior Design Performance makes sure your truck is reliable, while its interior guarantees you and your passengers are safe and comfortable for your commute. When you think about the Silverado EV vs. Ford Lightning, you may notice that both trucks offer five-passenger seating. The Ford stands out with its versatile cabin. You can lower the stowaway shifter and spread out the center console to reveal a makeshift desk, perfect for pulling out your laptop and getting some work done from the driver’s seat. Another upgrade is the panoramic glass roof, which will offer views of the sky above you as you travel to exciting destinations on your bucket list. EV Truck Technology Features Among the Chevrolet Silverado EV vs. Ford F-150 Lightning specs, you may not notice a lot of differences between the trucks. Both prioritize your connectivity, hence their compatibility with Apple and Android devices, and you can use their navigation systems to find your way around unfamiliar places easily. However, the F-150 has a bigger touchscreen at 12 inches. Its technology delivers updates about the weather and traffic jams in your area.
