Nashville food trucksNashville is known as the epicenter of country music. After you walk from venue to venue listening to tunes, you are bound to get hungry. Why not check out one of these food trucks that might be visiting your favorite business?

Smokin’ Buttz BBQ

Smokin’ Buttz BBQ has been cruising around Nashville since 2014 and serves mouthwatering slow-smoked barbecue. The menu varies from day to day, but they try to serve a couple of the standard options at each location. There is The Hickory, which is a smoked pulled pork sandwich, and The Mesquite, which is a smoked pulled chicken sandwich. Try The Gut Buster for a little more flavor; it has either smoked pork or chicken and is then topped with BBQ sauce, nacho cheese, and jalapenos.

Smokin’ Buttz also offers a few sides like coleslaw, barbecue baked beans, mac and cheese, and chips. You can also order loaded or basic nachos. To locate the truck, text “Buttz” to 88000 to get updates on where it will be that day.

Smokin’ Bowls

Smokin’ Bowls takes traditional Japanese ramen and other Asian street foods and gives them a southern twist. The specialty at this food truck are the fusion bowls, of which there are currently four varieties. There is the Snoop Bowl, which takes pork and miso broth and adds smoked pork, noodles, mushrooms, onions, ginger, and chili. The Jerry Bowl is made with chicken and miso broth, smoked chicken, noodles, mushrooms, basil, and ginger. Another option is the Shroomin’ Bowl, which is vegetarian and is made with a smoked vegetable broth, noodles, mushrooms, kale, and onions.

You can get a few Asian street food appetizers like the chili lime shrimp potstickers, Thai basil chicken potstickers, or Asian tacos. You can find out the schedule for the food truck on their website.

Yayo’s O.M.G!

Yayo’s O.M.G! or Original Mexican Gourmet is another delicious option in Nashville. Yayo’s sells Mexican-inspired dishes. All of their tacos can be purchased two or three at a time. The regular tacos come with either skirt steak, pork, chicken, or chorizo. Yayo’s does have specialty tacos that are made with mahi-mahi, shrimp, or a combination of brisket, chorizo, and pork. Yayo’s even has quesadillas and tostadas. Find the weekly schedule for Yayo’s on their website.

Retro Sno

Retro Sno makes gourmet sno-cones that can be a tasty treat on a hot Nashville day. Retro Sno creates all of their syrups by hand without using high fructose corn syrup. They then use filtered water to make their ice, which is shaved to achieve a light, fluffy snow. They offer some very creative flavors compared to those you may remember as a child. Try options like the sweet tea and lemonade, vanilla toasted coconut, sangria, raspberry wedding cake, or blackberry pomegranate. The schedule for this food truck can be found on their website.

Whether you want barbecue or Asian, or just about any other cuisine, you can probably find it on a food truck somewhere in Nashville. There are new trucks taking off every year, so keep yourself updated on the food truck scene.
