2018 promises to be an exciting year for Ford enthusiasts. In an era filled with technological advances, the automobile industry has not remained untouched by new technology trends. Vehicles have made massive leaps forward in recent years and Ford is taking great steps to stay ahead of the game to dish out some of the best vehicles we’ve seen from the manufacturer to date.
Here’s what’s up with Ford in 2018.
Improved Models in 2018
2018 Expedition
The newly redesigned 2018 Ford Expedition will come in two available lengths to choose from. The improved steel frame and all-new aluminum body will offer better protection in case of an accident while reducing the total weight of the vehicle by approximately 300lbs. Two engine sizes will be available. A 3.5-liter V6 engine comes standard with the option to upgrade up to a total of 400 horsepower on the Platinum trim level.
2018 Mustang
It’s hard to believe the Mustang can get much better, but that certainly hasn’t stopped Ford from striving for improvements. The 2018 Mustang features a redesigned body with a more modern feel while maintaining the recognizable modern Mustang look. Under the hood, you’ll find a 3.7-liter V6 engine. Even more changes have been made to improve on the Mustang’s higher-end trim level with the GT option including a Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine.
New Models Coming in 2018 and 2019
2018 EcoSport
The EcoSport, which has been available in other countries for a few years now, is finally making its way to the United States. Original designs for this vehicle were based on the Ford Fiesta. Two engine sizes will be available in the 2018 model: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine. Both options will offer an impressive amount of get-up-and-go for this small car. The best thing about the 2018 Ecosport is its price, coming in at $20,990 for the base model.
2019 Transit Connect
This is a new take on passenger wagons. Comfortably seating up to seven passengers with customizable passenger seating configuration, Ford promises to deliver the ultimate ride for driver and passengers alike in this vehicle. Loaded with some of the most advanced safety and comfort technology available in the automobile industry today, the 2019 Ford Transit Connect will come standard with a lot of options that would require an additional upgrade purchase on many other vehicles in its class. The 2019 Ford Transit Connect will be available for purchase in the fall of 2018.
The Bronco Returns in 2020
The Bronco is back! Ford stopped making this vehicle over 20 years ago and, by popular demand, it is making a huge comeback in 2020. Expect to see everything you used to love about the classic Bronco in this new design, along with all of the technology available in modern vehicles. Ford seems to be doing an excellent job at modernizing this iconic vehicle while still paying homage to the Broncos of our childhood. An official release date has not yet been announced, but you can expect to see the first Bronco’s go on sale in early 2020.
