Wyatt Johnson Ford - The Ford Focus vs. the Ford Fusion: What's the Difference?

When you're looking for a new Ford, you might consider purchasing either the Ford Fusion or the Ford Focus. While there are some similarities between the two, they also have some differences. From the fuel economy to the price, here are a few differences between the two to help you decide which one to get. Price The first difference between the Ford Focus and the Ford Fusion is the price, which is important to many consumers. The Ford Focus begins at $17,860 for the base S sedan model. There are several trims available, and the price can go up to $24,175 if you want the Titanium trim. The hatchback version of the Focus starts at $20,445 for the Ford Focus SE model and goes up to $41,120 if you want the Focus RS. Those who prefer the all-electric Focus EV will pay $29,190 for the basic version and get a federal tax credit of $7,500. The base model of the Fusion S starts at a higher price of $22,120. There are five different trims available, with the most expensive Platinum model beginning at $36,895. Each trim offers the option to have a hybrid powertrain.  The plug-in hybrid, the Fusion Energi, begins at $33,305. more Interior The Fusion is a midsize sedan that has comfortable seating for up to five people. The front seats were designed to be more comfortable for those stuck in traffic or on long drives. There is plenty of legroom and head space for taller passengers in the car. The front seats are ventilated and heated, and the driver's seat can be adjusted in 10 different ways. There are five seats in the Focus as well, but there is less room in the back seats, making it more uncomfortable for adults. Engine There are two midrange EcoBoost engines available for the Fusion. If going with the all-wheel-drive Fusion Sport, it has a twin-turbocharged 325 horsepower 2.7-liter V6 engine. Five out of seven of the trims in the Focus have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The SE trim has an available three-cylinder engine, and also boasts improved fuel economy. The RS model has a turbocharged 350-horsepower 2.3-liter engine, while the ST model has a 252-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. Fuel Economy The Focus SE trim will give you the best fuel economy, with 30 miles per gallon in the city and up to 40 miles per gallon when driving on the highway. The Focus Electric has 107 miles per gallon equivalent, and 115 miles can be driven without needing to charge it. The Fusion Hybrid gets 43 miles per gallon in the city and 41 miles per gallon when driving on the highway. The Fusion Energi's all-electric range is 21 miles and has 97 miles per gallon equivalent. As the population grows in Middle Tennessee, so does the number of struggling families in the community. According to Feeding America, a parent organization of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, 141,710 children are food insecure in America, and counting. more This inspired Brock Patterson, Wyatt Johnson Ford’s Specialty Vehicle Manager, to step up and donate 25,000 meals to families and individuals in need in the Nashville, TN area. “Because of commitment to supporting Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, struggling seniors, veterans, children, and families in our community will receive healthy food and hope,” says Taylor Loyal, Donor Relationship Manager. For every vehicle at Wyatt Johnson Ford that Brock sells in 2018, a donation of $50 or 200 meals will be made to the food bank. Each month, Taylor will meet Brock for a check presentation at Wyatt Johnson Ford. Since 1978, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee has been providing solutions for hunger issues in the Nashville area. 2018 promises to be an exciting year for Ford enthusiasts. In an era filled with technological advances, the automobile industry has not remained untouched by new technology trends. Improved Models in 2018 2018 Expedition The newly redesigned 2018 Ford Expedition will come in two available lengths to choose from. Two engine sizes will be available. A 3.5-liter V6 engine comes standard with the option to upgrade up to a total of 400 horsepower on the Platinum trim level. 2018 Mustang It's hard to believe the Mustang can get much better, but that certainly hasn't stopped Ford from striving for improvements. The 2018 Mustang features a redesigned body with a more modern feel while maintaining the recognizable modern Mustang look. Under the hood, you'll find a 3.7-liter V6 engine. Even more changes have been made to improve on the Mustang's higher-end trim level with the GT option including a Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine. New Models Coming in 2018 and 2019 2018 EcoSport The EcoSport, which has been available in other countries for a few years now, is finally making its way to the United States. Original designs for this vehicle were based on the Ford Fiesta. Two engine sizes will be available in the 2018 model: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine. Both options will offer an impressive amount of get-up-and-go for this small car. The best thing about the 2018 Ecosport is its price, coming in at $20,990 for the base model. 2019 Transit Connect This is a new take on passenger wagons. Although Tennessee is home to some vibrant cities and stunning natural beauty, there are also a few unusual and bizarre roadside attractions that you can only see in this state. Whether you live here or you're visiting, when you want an unforgettable experience, make sure you check out these top odd attractions. more Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum The Ludden family started their salt and pepper collection by accident. In the mid-1980s, Andrea Ludden was in search of a pepper mill that worked. Whenever she would end up with one that stopped working, she just placed it on the window ledge in her kitchen. Her neighbors thought she was starting a collection, so they would buy her salt and pepper shakers as gifts. Today you can view her collection of almost 20,000 salt and pepper shakers from ancient times to present day at the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum in Gatlinburg. Geographic Center of Tennessee In 1834, some politicians wanted the capital moved to the geographic center of the state so everyone could easily to get it. Professor James Hamilton did a survey of the state and determined its mid-point was in Murfreesboro. While politics and other circumstances left the capital in Nashville, there's still a monument in Murfreesboro marking the geographic center of Tennessee. To stand in the middle of the state, simply head a half-mile northeast on Old Lascassas Road to find an obelisk placed there by the Rutherford County Historical Society. Men's Bathroom at Hermitage Hotel From its grand lobby to its 2,000-square-foot presidential suite, the Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville is known for its stunning and original decorations from when it opened in 1910. However, perhaps its most famous room is the men's bathroom. With green and black glass terrazzo floor and shiny two-seat shoeshine station, this men's room is so beautiful it has been awarded "Restroom of the Year" multiple times. Don't worry ladies – even you're allowed to walk in and take a look at the grand bathroom. Carter House Franklin, Tennessee, wasn't a safe place during the Civil War. In 1864, U.S. General D. Jacob Cox commandeered the Carter House to use as his command post. When the Battle of Franklin broke out on November 30, the Carter family sought shelter in their basement with their slaves and a neighboring family. When the battle was over, they walked out to discover over 1,000 bullet holes in their home and outbuildings. Today you can take a tour of the house and put your finger in a piece of history. Jack Daniel's Grave When you go on a tour of the Jack Daniel's distillery, you can view the safe the businessman kicked that eventually led to his death. After the tour, head to the Lynchburg City Cemetery in Lynchburg to view his grave. There are even two iron chairs where you can sit down and toast the man with his whiskey.
