TN Whiskey Trail |Gay Family KiaTennessee is famous for its whiskey distilleries. Jack Daniels and many other well-known brewing companies call Tennessee home, and they offer tours of their facilities for interested visitors. You can travel to all of these distilleries separately, but planning the trip can be a bit cumbersome. That is why many of the distilleries in Tennessee banded together to create the Tennessee Whiskey Trail. It is a guided tour of the leading distilleries in the state, and you can check out it out when you are in the area. Here’s a look at why you should hit the Tennessee Whiskey Trail.

Sponsored by the Best

The laws regarding distilleries were relaxed a bit in recent years, which led to an increase in the number of distilleries. Right now, Tennessee is experiencing a major boom in whiskey distilleries. To capitalize on this, the Tennessee Distillers Guild decided to create something similar to Kentucky’s bourbon tour system.

Developed by several local distilleries, the Whiskey Trail ensures that the thousands of tourists who visit the distilleries each year can enjoy the best Tenessee has to offer, including Jack Daniels, Chattanooga Whiskey Co, and more. Visitors can plan their own trips, but that involves making arrangements at each distillery separately. To make it more convenient and enjoyable, the leading distilleries banded together to help tourists visit all of the facilities in a more ordered fashion.

Get the App

To help you plan and manage your trip, The Tennessee Tourism Department developed the Tennessee Whiskey Trail app. In it, you can find all of the information that you need to plan your trip and schedule your tours. The app also has information about the area that you need to plan other excursions besides your whiskey distillery tours.

There is More to do Outside of the Distilleries

When you plan your trip of the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, make sure that you take advantage of everything else that Tennessee has to offer. While you are touring the distilleries, you can find great restaurants to stop at like the Frothy Monkey coffee shop or the historic Old Mill Restaurant. Get back to nature with a hike through the Smoky Mountains and Townsend mountain trails, or visit Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson.

Tennessee is also a music capital, and there are plenty of places to find great live music and music history. Drop by the Country Music Hall of Fame or put your dancing shoes on and stop in at any of the live music venues on Honky Tonk Row.

If you are into good whiskey, then you should plan a trip through the Tennessee Whiskey Trail this summer. Many of the distilleries are in somewhat secluded areas, so you will need a reliable car to get you there. Wyatt Johnson Ford has a lot of vehicles to choose from that can make traveling more enjoyable this summer. If you are driving to distilleries, then you will want a vehicle with some extra room in it so that you can take home your favorite drinks and souvenirs.
